Latest Supported Appium Versions for Real Devices

This release updates the supported Appium versions for real device testing. Starting June 1st, 2024, only the following versions will be compatible for real device testing. Therefore, we recommend you check and update your test scripts accordingly.

Supported Appium Versions:

  • Android: Compatible Appium versions include 1.21.0, 1.22.0, 1.22.3, 2.0.0, 2.1.3, 2.2.1 and 2.3.0.
  • iOS:
    • For devices running iOS 12, 13, or 14, compatible Appium versions include 1.22.3, 2.0.0, 2.1.3, and 2.2.1.
    • For devices running iOS 15, 16, or 17, compatible Appium versions include 1.22.3, 2.0.0, 2.1.3, 2.2.1, and 2.3.0.

Note: For optimal compatibility and performance on devices running iOS 17 and newer versions, we highly recommend using Appium versions 2.2.1 and above.

If you don't specify an appiumVersion in your test configuration, the system will use the pre-configured default version. To use a different supported version, explicitly set the desired version within your desired capabilities.

Full-Page Screenshots for Native Apps on Real Devices 📃

Now capture full-page screenshots in native apps using SmartUI Webhooks powered by Appium. This empowers developers and testers to efficiently capture comprehensive screenshots of entire pages, ensuring detailed testing of visual elements across different devices and screen sizes. This feature is in the Beta phase.
